Former elite soldier, Glenn Curran, has built a strong real estate platform in Sydney's Upper North Shore.
McGrath has boosted its team on Sydney's profitable Upper North Shore with the appointment of former elite soldier, now prestige agent, Glenn Curran.
Curran will join the team at company-owned McGrath Lindfield, and will focus on the Lindfield, Roseville and Killara markets.
Curran began his career in real estate when he established his own agency, Curran Property. He become well known and respected in the local area for his dedication, focus, and community spirit - not to mention his stellar results
Before working in real estate, Curran had a distinguished career with the Australian Special Forces, one of the most elite sections of the Australian military. After leaving the Special Forces, he held senior executive roles with international corporations in the Middle East, and successfully negotiated several multi-million dollar construction contracts.
Curran is a keen sportsman, and is an active supporter and sponsor of Gordon Rugby Club. He is also a keen supporter of local sporting juniors.
Curran was recently responsible for important sales in the market, including a record result of $11.8 million for 26 & 26A Wattle Street, Killara, and $5.45 million for 66 Springdale Avenue, Killara.
Kon Stathopoulos, Head of Company Sales for McGrath said, “McGrath has a strong presence in the suburbs north of the harbour, and Glenn’s addition to our team will undoubtedly help us continue to grow our market share in a very important precinct of Sydney’s North Shore.
"Glenn has run a very successful business for the last few years and we believe his contribution to McGrath will be significant."
Curran said the McGrath Future program was a key factor in his decision.
“Most attractive to me as a business owner and operator was the incentive structure provided by the McGrath Future program, as it allows me to create income streams and at the same time continue to grow my business, service my customers and be a market leader, with a well-established support team," he said.
McGrath is looking to grow its market share in the Upper North Shore market, at a time when the Sydney property market is slowing down after boom conditions. Founder John McGrath says the slowdown will be healthy for the Sydney property market.
Curran agrees. Prestige auctions in the Upper North Shore market are still attracting strong prices, he said, although there is a decline in the number of registered bidders.
“The prestige belt of Killara, Lindfield and Roseville are home to some outstanding properties. I’m finding that buyers in many cases will pay a premium for a fully finished solution, a home that is renovated to a high standard and offers all the requirements for a modern lifestyle – indoor/outdoor entertaining, natural light and open floor plans. And at the top end, a tennis court is a must-have!" he said.
