New real estate industry standards being implemented from 1 July have been developed by REINSW and NSW Fair Trading, and will be explained at the 2018 Roadshow.
The Real Estate Institute of New South Wales is urging real estate agents to attend its 2018 Roadshow amid a flurry of false information about new industry standards.
REINSW CEO Tim McKibbin said for the past three years, NSW Fair Trading and REINSW have been developing the new industry standards that are being implemented from 1 July this year.
“There is a great deal of inaccurate information being disseminated by those who simply do not understand the reforms, or worse, are seeking to profit from their deliberate promotion of false information,” McKibbin said.
“I urge agents to join NSW Fair Trading and REINSW at one of our Roadshow information sessions being run at 20 locations across NSW from March to June. We will be able to provide the facts about what lies ahead, and what the obligations and options are.
“Come along and get the details from the people that developed the reforms, and have your questions answered.
"These changes will support and enhance the profession going forward and it is vitally important that all real estate professionals understand the truth about what this means for them,” McKibbin said.
Joining REINSW in the annual roadshow are representatives from NSW Fair Trading, the Real Estate Employers’ Federation (REEF), and newly elected REINSW president, Leanne Pilkington.
