New home sales see growth for the first time since 2017, HIA
Around the states, new home sales rose for the June quarter compared to the previous quarter in Victoria (+5.1 per cent), Western Australia (+2.9 per cent) and South Australia (+2.6 per cent).

New data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics showing a rise in Australia's annualised population growth has been welcomed by the Housing Industry Association.
The price of land for new residential building has risen as demand falls away, according to the March 2019 edition of the HIA-CoreLogic Residential Land Report.
Bi-partisan support for a Federal Housing Minister recognises the urgent need to address our housing affordability challenges at a national level, said the Housing Industry Association.
“Stronger new home building, off the back of strong population growth, is continuing to drive the improvement in economic conditions in Australia,” stated Tim Reardon, HIA’s Principal Economist.
