Stuart Ritchie of McGrath Estate Agents and Leon Axford of Axford Auctions to represent NSW at the Australasian Auctioneering Championships in Sydney this October.
Leon Axford of Axford Auctions said “The REINSW ran a terrific competition providing an environment for the top auctioneers in NSW to battle it out. It was a thrill for me to make my 5th final in this competition and even more rewarding to be announced in the top 2, booking my spot to compete at the Australasian Championship on Home Turf this year in Sydney.”
“After winning the REINSW Title in 2019 I got a taste of the Austro’s, making the final and I will do my best to get back to the finals to have a shot at winning the title to be the First Independent Auctioneer from NSW to take out the Championships.”
In July 2021, Stuart Ritchie celebrates his decade long relationship with McGrath Estate Agents. Starting as a relatively inexperienced Auctioneer with the industry’s biggest Auction House, Stuart has gone on to call over 3,000 auctions under the McGrath banner.
Working primarily in the St George and Sutherland Shire markets, where he is “born and breed”, Stuart sees his local knowledge and expertise as a real driver behind his success.
A two-time winner of the coveted McGrath Estate Agents Auctioneer of the Year Award, Stuart has also been a finalist in the REINSW Awards for Excellence in the Auctioneering category some 6 times – he is yet to win the title.
Stuart Ritchie of McGrath Estate Agents said, “he is incredibly excited about the prospect of competing in the Australasian Auctioneering Competition ‘Austros’ and representing NSW again, especially in front of what should be a partisan home crowd in October.”
There is a synergy in Stuart’s endeavours to take out the “Austros”, with the only 2 previous New South Welshmen winning the competition being McGrath founder, John McGrath and McGrath Chief Auctioneer, Scott Kennedy-Green.
Being a veteran of these competitions, Stuart credits “the training and preparation for competitions with improving his Saturday auction call and part of his continuing efforts to refine his skills and craft.”
