The second Brisbane Developers Forum was held last night.
The second Brisbane Developers Forum was held last night at Friday’s Riverside Bar where 130 members of the Brisbane development community gathered with Lord Mayor Graham Quirk to discuss what is happening at the coal face.
The event was hosted by Dan Holden, Director of HoldenCAPITAL, and Daniel Erez, Director of Newground Property. The event was designed to connect Brisbane developers with current industry information.
Lord Mayor Graham Quirk addressed the developers. "His main message was he'll keep supporting the development community, and he talked a lot about New World City, Queen's Wharf and Howard Smith Wharves," said Holden. "He also spoke about education as an export driver and how the reduction in headworks for student accomodation Brisbane City Council introduced earlier this year has resulted in 1500 new student beds." In February, Brisbane City Council reduced infrastructure charges for developers building student accommodation by 80 percent. "He was very engaging and warm and open, which was great," said Holden of the Lord Mayor.
The Lord Mayor was followed by guest speaker Matthew Gross of The National Property Research Co. who spoke about up-to-date development research and data, ensuring the developers left informed and ready to take on their next project.
Attendees networked whilst enjoying drinks and canapés and also had an opportunity to have their photo taken on the red carpet with the Lord Mayor. After the event, a VIP dinner was held for 10 HoldenCAPITAL clients with the Lord Mayor.
