TV host and comedian Ellen DeGeneres has paid $24 million for a five-bedroom home right on the beach in the quiet Californian town of Carpinteria.
The light and airy home has 79 feet of beach frontage, and features a bathroom with a fireplace and views of the ocean, high ceilings, a tennis court, and a wide deck overlooking the sea.
The property is approximately one acre, and has a one-bedroom guest house. A tree-lined drive leads to the cedar-shingled home.
The selling agents were Marsha Kotlyar of MK Properties and Kathleen Winter of Berkshire Hathaway Home Services.
DeGeneres is a regular trader of real estate, and is known to enjoy renovating. She even has her own home decorating TV show, 'Ellen's Design Challenge'.
She currently has nearby Italian-style estate, Montecito, on the market for $57 million.
