Australia's richest property billionaire Harry Triguboff is the 22nd richest real estate billionaire in the world.
Donald Trump may have declared "I’m really rich" when announcing his presidential bid at his Trump Tower office building in Manhattan on Tuesday, but he's not even close to being the world's most successful real estate tycoon. That's Hong Kong's Lee Shau Kee, who comes in at number 27 in the 2015 Forbes Billionaires List with an estimated worth of US$24.8 billion. 10 of the top 20 richest real estate billionaires come from Hong Kong or mainland China, and Lee is active in both markets. Trump said his team of accountants had been toiling for months to calculate his total net worth of US$8 billion. Australia's richest property billionaire is Harry Triguboff, with an estimated net worth of US$5.4 billion, which makes him the world's 22nd richest real estate billionaire. Triguboff's wealth comes from Meriton, Australia's largest apartment building company. Australian Frank Lowy has an estimated net worth of US$4.9 billion, which places him 27th on the Forbes list of real estate billionaires. The vast majority of those billionaires (96 out of 157) come from the Asia-Pacific. The US comes in second with 33 property billionaires, and Europe can claim 19.
