"I thought this would be a great way to attract some attention to the house."
One homeowner in New South Wales is trying to attract more interest in her property by selling her jewellery—which once belonged to Hollywood icon Elizabeth Taylor—along with the home.
Julie McAnally, who along with her husband Richard is selling their Korora Beach home 'Seamist,' purchased the collection of four rings from the landmark auction of The Collection of Elizabeth Taylor held at Christie’s New York in December 2011. The auction set a record for the most valuable sale of jewellery.
“Buying this piece of history gave me such a thrill. Whenever I mention the rings, people are always fascinated about them and how they came to be mine so, instead of leaving them to sit in the safe for another four years, I thought this would be a great way to attract some attention to the house," said McAnally.
The McAnallys purchased the house in 2007. In 2008, they demolished the old house and built a new one which was completed in December 2009. The home is currently on the market with Christie’s International Real Estate affiliate Ken Jacobs.
