Extension on new swimming pool reporting requirements.
Swimming pool owners in New South Wales have been granted a 12-month extension to make sure they have a valid compliance certificate before their properties can be sold or leased. The NSW state government requires all swimming pool or spa pool owners to register the pool or spa on the NSW Swimming Pool Register, and obtain a Certificate of Compliance before selling or leasing their property. The deadline for this certification was originally April 29 thus year, but has been pushed back to April 29, 2016.
David Crombie, CEO of the Estate Agents Cooperative, said they have received several calls from members in regards to the change because despite the announcement, the NSW Government Swimming Pool Register website still states a deadline of April 29, 2015.
