As Victoria faces a major review of property legislation, the REIV's Ignite conference will provide an overview of the policy environment, and an exceptional line-up of speakers.
As Victoria faces the largest review of property legislation in its history, this year's REIV Ignite conference will put policy front and centre.
The one-day conference will be held on 21 March at Crown Conference Centre, includes a keynote presentation by the Director of Consumer Affairs Victoria, Simon Cohen.
Cohen will discuss new initiatives for the regulator in 2018, as well as existing legislative reviews.
REIV CEO Gil King said this year’s conference will provide attendees with a comprehensive overview of the Victorian policy environment, including the application of new underquoting legislation and residential tenancy reforms.

“Last year was a challenging one for the real estate sector with the regulator commencing legal proceedings against a number of agents.
"The Ignite Conference provides the ideal opportunity for agents to ask questions of the director, and improve their understanding of proposed changes to multiple property Acts," he said.
Breakout workshops will also feature expert panelists on a number of important policy areas, including the next stage in the Residential Tenancies Act (RTA) review, working with owners’ corporations, and practical challenges with the new underquoting legislation.
“Being aware of proposed policy changes and how they impact on your daily business practices and clients are key to being successful in a very competitive market,” Mr King said.
“Attendees will also learn valuable insights into processes and procedures to assist in complying with new and existing legislation.”
“The REIV’s 2018 Ignite Conference features an exceptional line-up of speakers on digital disruption, however, a solid understanding of policy is a must have for both individuals and agencies.”
