At LJ Hooker's annual awards event on the weekend, John McManus snapped up the prize for leading selling business owner in NSW and the ACT, ending Bill Malouf's 16 years in the top spot.
John McManus of LJ Hooker Willoughby / Artarmon has been named the top selling business owner in NSW and the ACT, ending Bill Malouf's 16 years in the top spot.
"I was lost for words when I first found out," McManus told SCHWARTZWILLIAMS.
"Everyone was pretty chuffed to knock Bill Malouf off his perch!" he said.
"Now we just have to do it again next year," he said, only half in jest.
The prize reflects the strong growth and demand for property in Sydney's prestige lower north shore markets. McManus achieved an average sale price of $2.1 million. The properties he sold were on the market for an average of only 24 days before selling.
The LJ Hooker Willoughby / Artarmon office was also awarded second place in the NSW/ACT Top Office (mid-scale) category, and won the Digital Presence of the Year prize.
McManus said he boosted the team's digital presence by hiring some "young scouts" who had done an "incredible job" getting more people to the front door of open houses.
“We have pulled together and worked on new and innovative ways to attract new clients, while also ensuring our repeat customers are given the attention they deserve," said McManus.
“We made it our goal this past year to have a focus on digital presence and we are thrilled to see it has paid off,” said McManus.
“I was also honoured to have been named a Top Sales Person and to have placed in the top 0.5 per cent within the LJ Hooker family," he said.
McManus thanks his team for the strong result.
