The sale of historic home 'Vailele' for $23 million has set a record for the Hunters Hill peninsula, beating even the $18 million achieved for Hollywood star Cate Blanchett's historic home, 'Bulwarra'.
'Vailele' occupies a 3,220 sqm waterfront block, and has its own private jetty, a two-bedroom guest cottage, and heritage listed palm trees.
The north-facing home has six bedrooms, a music room, a cedar-panelled billiard room, home theatre, wine room, and a ten-car garage with lift access.
The home featured in the 1983 mini-series, Return to Eden, and last traded in 1993 for $3 million.
