Lend Lease submits plans for 25 square meter apartments.
Would you buy an apartment the size of a basic hotel room? Lend Lease is hoping to gain approval to build micro apartments as small as 25 square meters in the residential stage of its $1.5 billion Melbourne Quarter project.
The developer submitted plans last week for three residential towers in the Batman's Hill section of the Docklands. Lend Lease wants to build 1600 apartments, with one of the buildings offering apartments ranging in size between 25 sqm to 33 sqm. The largest apartment will be a 104 sqm three-bedroom residence. The towers have been designed by architects Fender Katsalidis.
Lend Lease has already lodged plans for the first $250 million commercial tower. In all, seven towers are expected at Melbourne Quarter.
