REISA has fought the battle for 3 years against traditional views and finally succeeded. Remember when REI Forms Live was the first in Australia to enable face to face signing in the presence of the real estate agent. Well that is even old news now!
The Electronic Transactions Act (ETA) which previously exempted real estate transactions has now been amended! For real estate transactions - wet ink is now electronic. Gone are the ETA days when real estate was not considered suitable for electronic communications.
Remember when everything was on paper and when your client was overseas, interstate or even regional, and your only option was "snail mail"? Remember, after "snail mail" came email but you still had to send electronically, have customer print out, sign with wet ink, scan back in and send back to you electronically? Those days are gone forever.
The new revolutionary way:
1. Fill details out in your contract in REI Forms Live
2. Click on the Docusign icon and first time users set up an account
3. Send the document to the Vendor/Purchaser nominated email address, along with their nominated witness email address
4. Then what- (a)Vendor/purchaser receives email and signs on screen on whatever device they receive the email, in the presence of their nominated witness; and (b)Witness then receives email and also signs on the device they view the email to state they saw the signature applied to the screen
5. Document is sent back to you - Signed, sealed and delivered. What could be easier?
